Delaplane Cellars
Delaplane Cellars is nestled on Lost Mountain, overlooking the Rural Historic Crooked Run Valley, right down Rt 17 from The Ashby Inn. They offer carefully crafted wines made only from 100% vinifera varietals grown in Virginia. Seating is available inside as well as on their terrace where you can enjoy your favorite bottle of wine and locally sourced cheeses and bread, while overlooking the vineyards, valleys, and miles of beautiful mountain range.
RdV Vineyards
RdV Vineyards is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains within a short, scenic drive of Washington, DC. Their steep granite hillside vineyards serve as a spectacular backdrop to our winery and tasting space. From their unique terroir we craft world-class red blends that have received international acclaim. Their vineyard is divided into 11 parcels dedicated to growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. They focus on creating iconic Bordeaux-style blends. RdV is open Thursday through Sunday, year-round by appointment only.
Linden Vineyards
Linden Vineyards is located in Linden, VA. Linden wines have a distinct style. They are concentrated, mineral, and refreshing rather than fruit driven. They often require significant aging to reach their full potential. Their wines are best enjoyed as a complement to a meal.
Since Linden’s first vintage in 1987, their focus has been in the vineyards. They now have three distinct sites, each one with an evolving personality. They nurture their vines and raise their wines in a manner that best expresses the character of each vineyard site. The wines from Hardscrabble Vineyard are cerebral and complex. Avenius Vineyard gives us wines that are edgy and energetic. Boisseau Vineyard produces hedonistic and lush wines.
Glen Manor Vineyards
Glen Manor Vineyards is located in Front Royal, Virginia approximately 70 miles west of Washington D.C., situated on a western flank of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The surrounding mountains, ranging between 1400 and 3400 feet in elevation, form a Glen which gives the vineyards a unique environment: A world of their own. The vines grow high on very steep mountain slopes characterized by deep, well-draining, and rocky soils. They employ a permanent cover crop between the rows and under the vines’ to aid in controlling the vines summertime growth and to increase the biodiversity of the vineyard.
The original six-acre vineyard was established in 1995. Over time, they have added new plantings on our mountainside bringing their total acreage under vine to 17.
Glen Manor Vineyards produces wines with a sense of place: the soils, the seasons, and the people who make these wines happen. Accordingly, many of their wines carry the names of those that have dedicated themselves to this place.
