Sky Meadow State Park, Delaplane
Hiking and horseback trail rides on the Appalachian Trail.
Sky Meadow State Park is located off Route 17, ½mile south of Paris. Saturday's & Sunday's at 1:00, 2:30 & 4:00pm. Tour the Historic Mount Bleak House which serves as the visitors center of Sky Meadows state park. (540)592-3556. 5 minutes south of Paris.
Blandy Farm State Arboretum, Boyce
Blandy Farm is a 700-acres University of Virginia research facility and home of the State Experimental Farm, displaying more than 8,000 trees and woody shrubs. The collections include more than half the world's pine species, the Virginia Native Plant Trail, the Boxwood Memorial Garden, a spectacular grove of more than 300 gingko trees, an herb garden featuring culinary/medicinal & ornamental herbs and so much more. Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) tells the story of the art, history, and culture of the great valley for which it is named. First opened in the spring of 2005 and designed by the internationally acknowledged architectural firm of Michael Graves & Associates, the MSV joined Glen Burnie Historic House and Gardens—which opened to the public in 1997—to form a regional history museum complex in Winchester, Virginia.
